The Bluegrass Mix project is what happens when 2 friends who had never actually met decide to create an internet Bluegrass radio station. Both Roger Randolph and Julie Raye started internet broadcasting on another station about Apr 2006 and enjoyed the experience of bringing this awesome music into peoples homes on an international level. In the latter part of 2007 both started feeling that there was something missing in what they were doing so decided to strike out on their own to explore their own creativity in Internet broadcasting and on 9 Dec 2007 The Bluegrass Mix.Com was born. Roger, Julie and all of the
volunteer hosts associated with The Mix hope that our listeners will find
our broadcasts entertaining and informative. Don't forget our popular chatroom where you can meet up with some great bluegrass fans and even some bluegrass artists that occasionally stop by. You never know who might pop in to say howdy. We also offer a Guestbook for visitors to record their visits. and a Blog for our broadcasters to share announcments to the listeners. The equipment at the
Bluegrass Mix is simply a PC with Windows XP-pro operating system. The
24/7 automated stream computer is home built around an AMD cpu, MSI
mainboard, 3com 10/100 ethernet card, Creative LIVE soundcard with front
panel "Live Drive" connectivity. 2 Hard drives, CD, DVD and 3.5' floppy.
It's connected to a Tilgin 4 port DSL modem/router. Static IP's on the WV
Fibernet network service. All of the above is possible due to donations and monetary gifts from the loyal listeners and a large chunk from personal funding. Thanks for Listening Update: The 2 friends have since met! |
